The show was great, just a slightly shorter set list compared to what they've been doing on the first two shows on the US tour. No Purify, Twenty Years or Begin the End. And still no Allergic. The stage was nice & low, giving the perfect view of the entire band. I was lucky enough to get first row again with Brian a little to my right. Brian's vocals sounded even better than the last time I saw them & he seemed to be in a really good mood & talked a LOT! He told us about how his parents met in New York City and that as he was having dinner the previous night, he realized he was beside the venue where Placebo performed their first New York City show! This personal touch was such an unexpected surprise, it was one of the highlights for me. Wish he'd open up like this more often.
I had the pleasure of meeting CheyennePony who has the best accent, and a local girl who was also there for Placebo but never did run into d321. Someone mentioned a guy with a LLL hoodie like the one I had on, but he was too far away for me to see.
I'll post pics when I'm back home, as my camera doesn't have Wi-Fi. Off to the Boston show tonight! Haha, it's only day two & I already feel detached from everyday reality! I keep having to remind myself what day of the week it is! That's what I get for choosing a 1am flight to NYC, haha!
PS: I had my signs with me again, and I think I saw Brian point my way during the Canada line again on Rob the Bank but not sure if I was seeing things or not!
PPS: Weather was crap! It was cold and rainy, and my flight was delayed an hour because of the rain! I'm so glad the rest of the shows are indoors!! I think I'm done with outdoor Placebo shows!
[EDIT] Here's the setlist:
1. B3
2. For What It's Worth
3. Loud Like Love
4. Every You Every Me
5. Scene of the Crime
6. A Million Little Pieces
7. Too Many Friends
8. Rob the Bank
9. One of a Kind
10. Exit Wounds
11. Meds
12. Song to Say Goodbye
13. Special K
14. The Bitter End
Encore:
15. Running Up That Hill
16. Post Blue
17. Infra-Red

[EDIT] Here's an additional tidbit that wasn't part of my original review, but was a reply to another PFWW forum member asking if I ended up using the VIP area at the festival...
Haha, well, I did and I didn't! I got to use the VIP washrooms when I arrived, and I got to enjoy some of the complimentary VIP food (much needed I might add, as I'd had only two granola bars all day & had started travelling 16 hours before!)! When the staff who were assigned to help me brought me to the stage area, one of them suggested I'd have a better view from the VIP area, because it's high up & then I wouldn't get pushed! Fuck that!!! I politely but vehemently declined his suggestion, saying I wanted to be as close as possible, as I wouldn't be able to see anything from the VIP area, as it was further away than where I actually ended up! I must say, though, they really came through for me. I've never gone to a festival of that magnitude period, and I've never gone to a festival alone (lots of issues for someone with low vision), but they really looked after me & made sure I got safely into a taxi afterwards. When I'm done my Placebo trek, I plant to send in a customer commendation for the three staff members who made this happen for me! I ended up taking a ton of pics (sorry Brian!!! Had to be done so I can see all the little details I'd never be able to see on my own standing right there in front of you!). Took way more than I even realized in NYC! I've got my little camera now, as it takes better pics than my phone. Gonna try a slightly lower ISO tomorrow, though, as the NYC/Boston pics had a bit of "noise" in them. I'll try to find time to post a few while killing time at the airports... :) But if I don't, I'll definitely post some when I'm done my Placebo trek. :)
A bunch of my Instagrammed pics & video stills (the lop-sided ones are the stills! ) Sorry they're kind of blurry. Yeah, I went WAY overboard on this show! Didn't even realize I took this many, as I was actually watching the show, too, LOL! I just kept pressing the shutter button without looking half the time! Sorry Brian, this was the only show I went nuts like this! Please don't hate me!!! It was kind of like a Placebo album being the antithesis of its predecessor! I took hardly any pics in Germany, so on my first show of the North American tour, I did the complete opposite & went overboard! Promise it won't happen again! Limiting my pics to the encore now *if* they'll let me... *crossing fingers* Actually, going to try to take a few pics of Stef's rainbow guitar during One of a Kind & THEN I'll limit the rest to the encore, LOL! The lighting is too bright during Post Blue to get a good pic of that damn guitar!!!
My last mega batch of photos from the band's show @ Escape Music Festival, NYC on 10/11/14! Sorry they're so blurry/grainy, but these are the better ones I was able to crop down & Instagramify, LOL! Really hoping I'll get to use my new camera during the UK tour so I can get some less grainy/less blurry photos! These ones below were all taken with my crappy five year old digital camera! I think it has something like 3x or 5x optical zoom.
PS - I behaved myself the rest of the tour & took WAY less photos (see above about that, haha!). Also, as mentioned, most of the lop-sided ones are actually video stills from the small bit of video I shot...
